Amrop Azerbaijan Plants 44 Trees in Commemoration of Victory Day and Republic Flag Day
Baku, Azerbaijan – 09.11.2024 – In honor of Azerbaijan’s victory in the 44-day Second Karabakh War on 09 November 2020 and in celebration of Republic Flag Day on November 9, Amrop Azerbaijan is proud to announce the planting of 44 trees in the Amrop Azerbaijan Forest on Tree-Nation. This initiative serves as a tribute to Azerbaijan’s resilience and unity, symbolizing the 44 days of the war and the spirit embodied in the national flag.
As part of its commitment to global sustainability, Amrop Azerbaijan planted 44 Euterpe oleracea trees in Brazil, the host country for COP30 in 2025. Known for their versatile uses in human and animal nutrition, craftwork and essential oil production, Euterpe oleracea trees represent both ecological and economic value. Each tree is expected to offset 440 kg of CO₂ over its lifetime, with an average yearly CO₂ offset of 44 kg in the first decade, and a natural lifespan of approximately 25 years. This project is part of Amrop Azerbaijan’s dedication to both the heritage of Azerbaijan and its commitment to sustainability. With Azerbaijan preparing to host COP29 in 2024, this initiative aligns with the country’s efforts to address global climate challenges. Planting in Brazil also symbolizes Amrop Azerbaijan’s support for the international community, as the world next year will gather for COP30 in Brazil.
