Jimmy Chen is chief enabling officer and managing partner of Amrop China who had served in Amrop's global executive board with APAC regional chair.

Leveraging on his 30 years’ experience helping companies grow value and reputation, Jimmy advises companies in the right governance and management of their enterprises via board and leadership team designs and their executive appointment and steering.

Before Amrop Jimmy was corporate VP of Aleris, Inc. He led the company’s organic growth and strategic acquisitions in APAC, particularly China. Prior to that, he was global VP, Static Control business and VP/GM, Asia Pac for Noveon, Inc. and a member of their global leadership team that tripled shareholders value. Earlier Jimmy enjoyed a progressive career with Dow Chemical, covering global and Asia Pac business and M&A leadership, and management for numerous Dow commodity and differentiated businesses.

He shares with his local and foreign clients what it takes to succeed in cross cultural and glocalization management – from market entry, greenfield, JV, M&A, transformation, digitization, restructuring to family business sustainability – covering 2B and 2C sectors in various industries including health, consumer, manufacturing, new retail, digital, mobility, renewables, chemicals, agriculture, semi-conductor, real estates and private equity; and spanning across both private and public sectors. His accumulative new learning from continuing daily top management exchanges in China, Asia, and around the globe, allows Jimmy to use a sharing approach in his advisory work.

Jimmy holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Manchester and the University of Stirling, and attended executive leadership programs at IMD, INSEAD and the Kelley School of Business. Married with 2 sons and 2 hounds, he enjoys traveling, racket sports and hiking. He is especially passionate in helping purposeful leaders, entrepreneurs and family-owned-enterprises achieve lasting greatness and fulfillment.
