Rodrigo is a Partner and leader for the Financial Services Practice at Amrop Mexico.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from ITAM, with further studies at the University of Antwerp (UFSIA) in Belgium. He has more than 25 years of experience in the financial sector, including 22 years at BBVA, where he held senior leadership roles in Retail Banking and Payments, with responsibilities across Mexico, Asia, and Latin America, leading growth strategies, digital transformation, and business development in highly competitive markets.

In recent years, he has combined his corporate background with a strong entrepreneurial focus, acting as investor and advisor in e-commerce, financial services, and real estate projects. In parallel, he has been one of the most active promoters of the sustainability agenda in Mexico and the region, serving as Managing Director of IASE Mexico, the local chapter of the International Association for Sustainable Economy, where he has driven training, certification, and professionalization in ESG criteria and sustainable finance for more than 500 executives, board members, and professionals across multiple industries.

He holds the ISB® (International Sustainable Business) certification from IASE and is recognized for his ability to strategically integrate sustainability into business models, corporate governance, and risk management. He joined Amrop Mexico as Partner in charge of the Financial Services Practice, bringing a unique combination of international banking experience, strategic vision, and sustainability leadership to the identification and development of high-impact executive talent.
